Events
Herðubreið community and culture centre is an ideal venue for concerts and shows. We welcome all kinds of artistic and cultural events. The facilities allow for a broad variety of events including a cutting edge cinema, top of the line sound systems and a newly renovated black box and theatre.

Risk-share model
We welcome expressions of interest for a risk-share venue hire arrangement for independent and emerging performing artists who meet specific programming targets and criteria. If selected for this programme, you won’t pay a fixed per night venue hire for the use of our space. Instead, we take a small percentage + vsk out of your box office at the end of your season in addition to a nightly venue technician charge and a cleaning fee.
Included in the risk-share venue hire package is: a blackbox stage, inbuilt sound system and mixer, fixed stage lighting rig, movable seating of up to 100, an operating bar on event nights and advertising through Herðubreið community and culture centre. Rehearsal space is also available upon request.
What this means is that Herðubreið will be  co-presenting your show put on at our venue and will collaborate with you on the activities associated with presenting your event.  We also provide on-the-ground support  through the roles of Technical Manager and Box Office Manager.
